Good Afternoon! Read on for important info on FAFSA/college planning... Our team is busy working to support our Class of 2024 seniors, but our seniors have been VERY busy also! We currently have around 33% of our senior class who have submitted their plans to the administration team on what they are doing next year. We are eagerly awaiting plans for the rest of our seniors. There are still some Amazon gift cards up for grabs when they submit their plans to Mrs. Kowalski. 🍂🦃 As we approach Thanksgiving week, we want to remind everyone that there will be no school from November 20th to November 24th. We hope this break allows our students and staff to recharge and enjoy quality time with loved ones. This year, we've utilized student attendance data and feedback to craft a professional development schedule. By strategically planning teacher PD days during times of traditionally lower attendance, we aim to maximize learning opportunities and ensure our educators have the time and space to enhance their skills. This thoughtful approach is thanks to your input and support in fostering a thriving learning environment. Colon Jr/Sr High School families re: tomorrow!! Charge your Chromebooks, bring your chargers with you! And enjoy our little story: 'Twas the night before iReady, and all through the Jr/Sr high school, Not a creature was stirring, not even in the elementary school. The Chromebooks were placed by the chargers with care, In hopes that full batteries soon would be there. The students were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of diagnostics danced in their heads. And the principal in her office, our support staff, too, Were charging their Chromebooks, all shiny and new. With a modified schedule, the morning would bring An iReady diagnostic, oh, what a thing! But fret not, dear families, it'll be just fine, As long as those Chromebooks brightly will shine. So charge up those Chromebooks, make sure they're all set, For a morning of assessments, don't you forget! Mrs. Wielenga, Mrs. Kevnick, and Mrs. Kowalski, oh my, They're currently charging devices under the moonlit sky. Now, middle and high school students, it's time to prepare, For iReady awaits with challenges rare. Bring your Chromebooks charged, from wall sockets gleaned, And let's ace those diagnostics like a dream! In this holiday season, let's learn and have fun, With devices all charged, we'll get work done. So, rest up tonight, for the morning's quite near, With iReady ahead, let's give a big cheer!

We have about 17 spots for students in Grades 9-12 to attend our May 2024 Field Trip to Washington, DC. If interested, 9-12 graders should act fast to get their registration form and $100 deposit in ASAP.

On Wednesday, we had even more visitors to talk about life after high school with our students. Saginaw Valley State University and the Army National Guard were the latest organizations to see our Magi students and share about how they may fit into their postsecondary plans. So far this year, we have welcomed visitors from over ten colleges and several military recruiters, and in October, almost 20 professionals spoke about their career paths. Don't forget to SAVE THE DATE for our FAFSA Night Part 2 of 2, and soon, Mrs. Kevnick will be releasing her recording of the first session for families wishing to prepare for the December 4th event.

Save The Date! We have heard your feedback about our holiday concert and have found a way to involve ALL K-5 students in this production. Whether they are performing as part of their music special or their art special, all elementary students will play a special part in this extravaganza! Our CHS Gym is large, but you will want to get there early to save your seat!

Today, we honor and express our deep gratitude to all the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. Your sacrifice, dedication, and selflessness have protected our freedoms and ensured our safety. Let's take a moment to remember and thank our veterans for their service, sacrifice, and the invaluable contributions they've made to our country.

We appreciate all of the wonderful individuals who serve as guest teachers in our buildings. We could not do it without you!
