CCS is moving to virtual learning on Wednesday. Due to staffing and substitute issues, Colon Community Schools will move to virtual learning on Wednesday, Nov. 17th through Wednesday, Nov. 24th. We will plan to return to face-to-face learning on Monday, Nov. 29th after the Thanksgiving break. Teachers will be preparing one-to-one technology and the students for this move during school tomorrow. Attendance remains mandatory through the teacher's Zoom link within Google Classroom. Attendance will be taken just as it is during face-to-face learning; you must physically be present on Zoom and be a contributing member of the class to be marked present for school each attendance period. Parents of BACC and SJC CTE students may send students to those programs if transportation can be arranged. There will not be transportation provided by Colon Schools throughout this time period. Please contact your child's school building office with questions.

Parents and Guardians of CCS Students, The health and safety of our students is our top priority. To help identify students in need of additional support services, all classroom teachers will be administering brief wellness surveys to their students at least once each semester of the 2021-2022 school year. Survey responses will be used to connect students with appropriate resources, including school health professionals (such as a school social worker or counselor), who may offer additional screening to determine specific concerns. If you have specific questions regarding the screening or the follow-up processes, please contact your child’s school and ask to speak with a school social worker. If you do not want your child to participate in school wellness screenings, you may opt your child out, by contacting Colon Elementary School office or Colon Jr/Sr High School office on or before October 14, 2021. Thank you for your support as we work together to educate and support your child.
