4-12-17 versus Athens

The girl’s varsity track meet competed against a very competitive Athens team on Wednesday of last week.  Holli Bohm won high jump and placed 3rd in the mile.  Rebekah Scofield placed 2nd in discus and shot put.  Isabelle Rench won pole vault and placed 2nd in long jump.  Katelyne Leitch was 3rd in pole vault and the 100 meter dash.  Gracie Cornett placed 3rd in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.  Jayden Breneman placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash.  Nayomie Allen placed 2nd in the two mile and Christin Hicks took 3rd in the 800 meter run.  Great start to the season girls!

4-19-17 versus Bellevue

The girl’s track team easily won last nights track meet at Bellevue against 4 other teams. Katelyne Leitch won the 200 meter dash, placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash, and was on the winning 400 meter relay team along with Abby Saxman, Sydney Tomlinson and Megan Norton. Abby also placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and was on the winning 800 meter relay team with Keagan Bower, Megan and Nayomie Allen. Megan also placed 3rd in the 200 meter dash. Christin Hicks won the 800 meter run, placed 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles, and was part of the winning 3200 meter relay team along with Keagan, Nayomie and Jayden Brenneman. Roosa Mynttinen placed 3rd in the 800 meter run and 2nd in the mile. Holli Bohm won the two mile and placed 2nd in high jump. Nayomie was 2nd in the two mile. Gracie Cornett placed 3rd in both the 100 and 300 hurdles. Morgan Sillings took 3rd in the mile. Rebekah Scofield placed 2nd in both shot put and discus. Great job girls! Please come support your Magi track teams this Saturday at our own Dale Shook Invitational that starts at 10:00 a.m.

4-22-17, Dale Shook Invitational

The girl’s track team competed at our own Dale Shook Invitational on Saturday and won quite easily! Abby Saxman won the 100 meter dash, 400 meter relay, and 800 meter relay and placed 3rd in the 1600 meter relay. Katelyne Leitch won the pole vault, placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash, won the 400 and 800 meter relay. Isabelle Rench placed 2nd in pole vault, and placed in the 400 meter dash, long jump, and 200 meter dash. Jayden Breneman placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash, 1st in the 3200 meter relay, and 3rd in the 1600 meter relay. Alison Case was 2nd in high jump and placed in the 400 meter dash. Christin Hicks placed 2nd in the 800 meter run, 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles, and first in the 800 and 3200 meter relays. Ellie Wyatt placed 4th in the 800 meter run and also placed shot put and discus. Holli Bohm was part of the winning 3200 meter relay team, placed 2nd in high jump, 4th in the mile, and competed in the 3rd place 1600 meter relay team. Nayomie Allen placed 2nd in the two mile and long jump, first in the 3200 and 400 meter relay teams. Morgan Sillings placed 3rd in the two mile. Gracie Cornett was 3rd in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 1600 meter relay team. Morgan Norton competed on the winning 400 and 800 meter relay teams and also placed in long jump. Jillian Kinstle placed in long jump. Nice job girls!

4-26-17,  League Jamboree @ home

The girl’s track team continues to be undefeated in the SCAA! Colon edged out St. Phil by one point to win jamboree last Wednesday. The 400 meter relay team of Sydney Tomlinson, Katelyne Leitch, Abby Saxman and Megan Norton took first place. The 1600 meter relay team of Christin Hicks, Keagan Bower, Megan and Abby also took first. The 3200 meter relay team of Christin, Keagan, Nayomie Allen, and Holli Bohm also took first. The 800 meter relay team of Abby, Katelyne, Megan and Brianna Vinson took 2nd place. Katelyne took 2nd in pole vault and Isabelle Rench took 3rd. Rebekah Scofield took fifth in both discus and shot put. Nayomie took 2nd in long jump followed by Sydney in 3rd, Jillian Kinstle in 4th and Isabelle in 5th. Gracie Cornett took 5th in high jump, 5th in the 100 meter hurdles, and 3rd in the 300 meter hurdles. Holli took 2nd in high jump and Alison Case took 4th. Abby took 3rd in the 100 meter dash and Nayomie took 4th. Christin took 2nd in the 400 meter dash followed by Isbelle in 3rd and Jayden Breneman in 4th. Keagan took 2nd in the 800 meter run and Holli took 3rd. Katelyne tied for 2nd in the 200 and Nayomie took 3rd in the two mile. Great job girls!!

4-28-17 @ Union City Invitational

The girl’s track team competed at a very competitive meet on Friday night. The 400 meter relay team of Sydney Tomlinson, Brianna Vinson, Megan Norton, and Katelyne Leitch placed 6th to earn points for the Magi. Also scoring was Rebekah Scofield throwing a season PR 31′ 1″ in shot put to place 8th. The 800 meter relay team of Nayomie Allen, Megan, Brianna and Katelyne finished 9th, Christin Hicks finished 10th in the 400 meter dash, Isabelle Rench and Katelyne tied for 9th in pole vault, and Katelyne finished 13th in the 100 meter dash with almost 40 competitors. Nice job girls.

5-3-17 @ Climax-Scotts Jamboree

The girl’s varsity track team competed at Climax-Scotts last night in a league jamboree. Although we lost to Pittsford, we beat Climax-Scotts, Burr Oak and Tekonsha. Megan Norton took 2nd in the 100 meter dash, followed by Abby Saxman in 3rd. Nayomie Allen placed 2nd in the two mile with Gracie Cornett in 3rd. The 400 meter relay team of Brianna Vinson, Abby, Nayomie, and Katelyne Leitch took 2nd. Brianna, Megan, Katelyne and Abby took 2nd in the 800 meter relay and the 3200 meter relay of Isabelle Rench, Nayomie, Jayden Breneman and Holli Bohm also took 2nd. Holli also took 3rd in high jump. Kassidy Cook took 4th in discus. Keep up the good work!

5-6-17 @ Centreville Invitational

The girl’s track team competed at a team scored meet in Centreville on Saturday. Considering we had several girls missing, we placed 6th out of 9 teams. Highlights of the meet included Katelyne Leitch vaulting a foot higher than her previous best. She cleared 8 foot to place 2nd. Christin Hicks placed 4th in the 300 hurdles less than 2 seconds away from a state qualifying time. This was the first time she ever ran them! The 800 meter relay team of Brianna Vinson, Abby Saxman, Christin and Katelyne finished 5th.

5-10-17 West Division Meet @ home

The girl’s varsity track team competed at the West Division Championship on Wednesday.  We placed 2nd behind St. Philip, but beat Jackson Christian, Bellevue, Climax-Scotts, Tekonsha and Burr Oak.  Placing first was the team of Nayomie Allen, Christin Hicks, Keagan Bower, and Holli Bohm in the 3200 meter relay.  Also placing first was the 800 meter relay team of Keagan, Katelyne Leitch, Abby Saxman and Christin.  Nayomie also won long jump.  Placing 2nd was Keagan in the 400 meter dash, Gracie Cornett in the 100 meter hurdles, the 400 meter relay team of Brianna Vinson, Abby, Sydney Tomlinson and Katelyne, Katelyne in pole vault and Sydney in long jump.  Also placing for Colon were Rebekah Scofield and Kassidy Cook in discus and shot put, Jillian Kinstle in long jump, Carly Payne in long jump, Alison Case in high jump and the 400 meter dash, Sunni Solbakken in the 800 meter run, Roosa Mynttinen in the 800 meter run, Megan Norton in the 400 meter dash and Ellie Wyatt in the two mile.  Nice job!

5-13-17 @ John Green Invitational

The girl’s track team competed at the John Green Invitational in Mendon last Friday.  Earning medals were Katelyne Leitch in the 200 meter dash, Megan Norton in the 400 meter dash, Christin Hicks in the 300 meter hurdles, Megan, Katelyne, Brianna Vinson, and Abby Saxman in the 400 meter relay and 800 meter relay, Nayomie Allen in long jump and the 3200 meter relay along with Jayden Breneman, Holli Bohm, and Christin, and Rebekah Scofield in discus.  Also earning points for the team were Ellie Wyatt in the two mile and Gracie Cornett in the 100 meter hurdles.  Nice job girls.  Hope to see some fans at regionals in Hanover Horton this Saturday.

5-20-17 @ Regionals

The girl’s track team competed in regionals on Saturday. Although we are not sending any girls to the state meet, we still had some of the best times of the year despite the cold, rainy weather. Isabelle Rench and Katelyne Leitch tied for 5th place in pole vault. Nayomie Allen placed 8th in long jump. Rebekah Scofield placed 8th in discus and our 3200 meter relay team of Nayomie, Christin Hicks, Holli Bohm, and Keagan Bower placed 4th and Gracie Cornett placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles. The 800 meter relay team of Christin, Keagan, Abby Saxman, and Brianna Vinson placed 5th, Christin placed 4th in the 300 meter hurdles, and the 400 meter relay team of Brianna, Megan Norton, Abby, and Katelyne placed 4th. Our 1600 meter relay team of Megan, Abby, Keagan, and Christin placed 4th. Nice job girls!
