9-7-16 versus Tekonsha

The 7th grade volleyball team lost a hard battle against Tekonsha last night in 3 matches; 25-18, 14-25, and 10-25. Sydney Taylor led the team with 6 service points, Ashley Knauss added 5 service points, Samantha Peppers and Emma Velie contributed 3 each, and Amberia Howard led the defensive effort.

The 8 th grade volleyball team began their season with a WIN; 25-20, and 25-19. MaryJane Mountain led with 4 kills and 4 aces, Brenna Fisher added 4 aces and 7 assists, Kaitlyn Wagner 3 aces and 1 kill, and Ashley Vallance 2 aces and 1 kill.

9-17-16 @ Union City

The 7th grade volleyball team had a tournament in Union City over the weekend. It was a great learning experience for the girls to have at the beginning of the season. We lost to Concord 7-25 & 19-25; Union City scores were 16-25 & 15-25; versus Homer 24-26 & 16-26; and against Centreville 13-25 & 7-25. Serving controlled the games and Sydney Taylor, Amberia Howard, Rylee Sobczak and Samantha Peppers led the Magi.

9-19-16 @ Bellevue

On Monday the 7th and 8th grade teams traveled to Bellevue. Both teams played hard.  The 7 th grade team scores were 29-31, 25-18, and 16-18. The 2 games we lost, we went extra points in our battle. Or best servers were Isabelle Dingman, Amberia Howard, Sydney Taylor and Ashley Krauss.
The 8th grade team also went to 3 games after a rough start; 21-25, 26-24, and 12-15. Serving was led by Ashley Vallance, Mary Jane Mountain and Kaitlyn Wagner.
Brenna Fisher contributed 3 assists, Mary Jane added 2 kills and Adyn Bower picked up 1 kill.

10-12-16 @ Climax-Scotts

The jr. high volleyball team traveled to Climax-Scotts last night where the seventh grade team lost 14 to 25, 11 to 25 and 7 to 25. The team shows improvement every game and last night they did a great job of following the ball to the line.   The 8th grade team had a very exciting games 25 to 22, and 25 to 22.  Brenna Fisher led the team with four aces, 11 total service points, two kills and five assists. Ashley Vallance added another four aces, 10 total service points and seven kills. Mary Jane Muntian added four aces, four kills, one block and led the team defensively. Kaitlyn Wagner added 2 aces and also helped in the defensive effort. Last night was definitely the girls best game all season.  Great job girls!

10-17-16 @ Litchfield

The jr. high volleyball teams traveled to Litchfield where the 7th grade team picked up 1 of the 3 games; 11-25, 19-25, 25-17. Sydney Taylor led the team with 5 aces and 7 total service points, Amberia Howard added 3 aces and 5 total service points, while Emma Velie contributed 2 aces and 5 total service points. The defensive effort was led by Amberia, Sydney, Brooke Howard, Emily Taylor and Haven McClish.

The 8th grade team earned a W in the evening; 25-22, 22-25, 15-6. Mary Jane Muntian led the team in serving with 6 aces and 10 total service points, as well as racking up 5 kills and leading the defensive effort. Abby Vallance, Adyn Bower and Brenna Fisher each earned 7 total service points; Brenna also added 9 assists and assisted in the defensive efforts. Kaitlyn Wagner added 6 service points, and Ashley Vallance led the offensive efforts with 6 kills.
