District Announcements

  • Congratulations to Savannah Taylor who has earned a spot in the State 4-H Awards Program. This is the highest honor bestowed on Michigan 4-H youth.  This program is for 4-H youth aged 13 and up with at least three years of 4-H experience. All youth who meet these requirements are encouraged to apply. Youth compete in 19 different award areas showcasing their knowledge, skills and experiences.

    Applications are carefully reviewed by selection committees and delegates are announced by April 1st. Delegates are invited to participate in either an advanced leadership development program (juniors) or competitive interviews (seniors) during 4-H Exploration Days on June 18th.  State 4-H Award winners will be announced at the 4-H Recognition Program, held at the prestigious Huntington Club in Spartan Stadium, June 19th during 4-H Exploration Days. Savannah is the youngest student who has ever been selected in our area for this program.  Excellent job Savannah!

  • Congratulations on a successful Quiz Bowl season! I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for participating! Your students show tremendous sportsmanship, unbelievable knowledge and great character. It truly is an honor being part of a program with so many smart and talented students. Thank you Peggy for your dedication to the program as well as Science Olympiad and to the students. As well as Congratulations to Skyler Harvey who was awarded the Leadership Award for quiz bowl.

  • Olivia Parshall got first place at the Management Competition in Lansing. She is now going to Nationals in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 2nd through the 5th Congratulations and Good Luck!

  • Congratulations goes out to Katie Walters who competed in Extemporaneous public speaking. This contest requires writing a speech on a given topic in 30 minutes, then giving a five minute minimum speech followed by questions.  Katie made it through districts, regional, semi-finals, and was names state winner and will be competing at National FFA convention next fall. Katie was also named Star finalist in Agricultural Business and was the state winner in the agricultural sales proficiency area.
